Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to the 9th
annual eGreetings For Donna page. (Has it really been that long?
Wow!) As always, find a comfy chair, get a nice warm drink and a
plate of cookies because you will be reading here for
awhile. :-)
This year I tried something a little bit different. In light of
the variations of this year's shows, I thought it would be fun for
fans to list 2 or 3 of their favorite live songs (either songs
seen in person, or songs seen on TV or YouTube or wherever)
and 2 or 3 songs they would love to see live someday. I know that
was an almost impossible task to come up with only 2 or 3 songs
for each category - even I was tempted to cheat by considering
"the entire back catalog" as one item. LOL
I'd like to thank everyone who contributed, and I'd like to
thank Patrice for giving me the "Merry Christmas"
picture above. (Merci Patrice.)
Hi Donna, and thank you again for another great show in Los Angeles. I'd love it if you came to my hometown of San
Francisco and played at The Warfield- that would be so amazing! When are you going to add the
song, "The Wanderer" to the setlist? It's been way too long for this number 3 hit (number 2 on Cashbox back in the day) of yours to be
overlooked, and it's such a great song!! I always felt Elvis (yes, the one and only Elvis) could have sung this song, but of course, not
like the rock legend that is Donna Summer. Isn't it great to be mentioned in the same sentence with the King of Rock?!!! All I want
for Christmas is "The Wanderer" performed in concert! Best wishes on your nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Music enthusiasts
like me know Donna can rock with the best of them. Finally, a very happy birthday to you. Your voice is heaven sent. Always remember your
fans LOVE you more than the food we eat...okay maybe that was a stretch. In any case, you are the greatest as they come. Now I'll let
you get back to the studio singing like the angel you are. A fan since
1975, Eli

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, DONNA AND FAMILY!
Well, 2009 was a tough year for everyone, including myself. However, by the grace of God, I survived and am here to tell the tale. I pray that your family and all that you love are doing well and are prosperous.
I have been guided through the storm by music and I have quite a surprise for you! Grammy winning KLUBJUMPERS have found me and have remixed your tribute song "Riding Home From Baltimore" and it is being released
worldwide on November 17th. I hope that by the time you get this note it will be climbing up the Billboard club charts. My full album also comes out in January 2010. You are thanked in my liner notes. I have attached my bio
announcement for the release.
It is my wish fervent that you finally get inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! Your work stands as a testament to itself. It would be poetic justice if your tribute song takes ff as they announce your induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in January! This would be a great way to start off the year!!!!
In addition, I want to wish you a Happy Birthday on New Year's Eve!
In closing I wish you and yours the Happiest of Holidays and a safe and prosperous new year!
My friend and I attended your concert at Primm Valley in Nevada on September 26, 2009, and had a great time. We especially enjoyed hearing you sing songs from “Crayons” as well as your classic hits. I wished you had sung “Fame (The Game)” as that’s one of my favorite current tunes from you, but it was still a very good concert. That Buffalo Bills venue is fantastic. I wish you’d come to Hawaii and perform in concert. You do have fans out here. Thank you for your gift of music and I hope you get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!

Hey Donna & Family, I just wanted to wish all of you happy holidays. Hopefully soon you may stop in Phoenix Arizona to visit us again soon. I had such a great time when you were here last. I enjoy the "Crayons" C.D. I look forward to the next one. When and if you decide to release another one I'll be one of the eager fans that will still be waiting. You(even though I don't know you personally) and your music have been a staple in my life.
Bless you and all you touch,
Christopher Blackwell

Dear Donna,
Thank you for being you. You are a natural born talent. I always enjoy your shows. I love when you perform Mac Arthur Park, Smile, and Be Myself Again. I would love for you to perform Cold Love, There Will Always Be A You, and Lucky. There are so many to mention but I narrowed it down to my favorites. Have a Happy Birth Day and a Merry Christmas with your family.
Love,
Angelo Zurica

Hi Donna
I'm one of your biggest fans since late 70's. I want to thank you for such of good shows from the last couple years.
I have a request for you.... Could you please give us a segment like 80's medley... starting with "Love is in control", "the
wanderer", "this time I know is for real" & of course ending with
"SWHFTM". I think a lot of fans would love to listen those songs live again
and that you were present also in the 80's decade! Oh Well to make it short now.... My best wishes for you and your family for Christmas, New Year eve which of course is your B.D. and God Bless you!
Hugs, dino

Dear Donna,
This year was great, I saw the show in Paris, it was the second time I saw you, wonderful !
The first time was in Antwerp at The Night of the Proms, but that wasn’t the real Donna Summer.
I hope you will come back soon to do some concerts. In Paris I had a seat on the second road, next time it will be on the first.
Thank you,
Best wishes,
Dirk,

Donna THANK YOU for continuing to tour and for gracing us with your wonderful voice.
As per Cathy's request, here are my two song choices which I would love to hear at your concerts again:
A Song For You ( your 70's version gives me goose bumps) and the Spring Affair/Summer Fever/I Feel Love medley.

Dear Donna, It was so wonderful to see you again this year. I was so thrilled to see you perform La Vie en Rose in a couple of your concerts. It was also amazing to hear you sing I Can't Stand the Rain during your sound check in Niagara Falls. Your voice is truly a gift from god. Thank you for everything and I wish you and the whole family a very Merry Christmas. Happy Birthday too and may all of your wishes and dreams come true ! God bless you always !!

Dear Miss Summer even in my wildest dreams when I discovered your voice back in 1974. I was a kid, I could never imagine, wish or even think that I would be next to you on stage, at one of your concerts in Europe in july last during your Stamp Your Feet 2009 Tour.
It was a thrill to see you performing and working. As I was backstage (for a possible translation) at the Palais des Congrés in Paris I had my private show on the earplugs that were given to follow the play list.
Oh What a Night ! Oh what a voice!!!! "my ears are still blocked!!! i will never forget what happened that night.
We've met several times during our lifetime . The first time was back in 1984 with a Supernatural Love, you agreed for me to come to meet you and give you some flowers in your dressing room during a French TV show.
Then back in 1994 with a Melody of Love you invited me to come with some friends to visits you in a private room at the Hotel Georges V in Paris. Also in 1999 during the ampex of a special Sheila (French famous singer and actress.) We stayed with you for a while in your dressing room, because Bruce was giving an interview just outside the door and we couldn't leave. You've always been very kind and gentle.
What a long journey. A journey as every journey is: full of joys, dramas and what makes Life! Hopes for a better future.
I want to wish you a very nice birthday and a very very happy new year for 2010 . Full of NEW SONGS!!!!
With all my heart, with love from an Ordinary Boy to a Super Girl .
this are my favorite live tracks: Song For You (Live in JAPAN 1979)
Celebrate Me Home (live in Montecatini, ITALY 1987)
Pearls (live in USA 2006)
this are the tracks i would love to see live : Nobody (Can Love You, Like I Do) 1999 from VH1 presents
Work That Magic 1991 from Mistaken Identity
A Man Like You 1977 (with
Donna's today's voice this song could be a killer in live) from One Upon A Time
I'm Free 1984 from Cats Without Claws
José Luis Casas
ps: I really would love to hear live "Dreamcatcher" and a medley song with "When Love Cries" with "Love To Love You Baby"
it is so difficult and they are so many songs to sing.

Dear Donna,
Thanks a million for coming to Europe this year. Paris was a joy, the energy in the Palais De Congrès was overwhelming and it was great to be among all those fans that came from different parts of the world. Then Lokeren in Belgium was an even better concert, the sound was much better than in Paris and your performance of Love to Love you baby was like a journey to the centre of your heart !
Your talent is great. Although you have done so much already I still have the feeling you can take us on new and interesting sideways.
With each thing you do you take yourself (and your fans) to a higher level.
Thank you for being such an inspiration and hope to see you in Europe again soon.
I am wishing you and your family a very fulfulling Christmas, a happy birthday and a Brandnew Year.

Donna,
Congratulations on staying active and spreading the joy with your divine voice. I didn't know your mother, but I do know she would be proud that you still share your talent with so many and just don't sit back and collect the checks. What a wonderful gift to us all.
Please consider Pittsburgh soon, it has been since 1995 when you were here. We have lots of venues and need you here to light up our city! Happy Birthday early, good luck again w Hall of Fame, considering those that cite your influences, it is just a matter of time. What an honor to sing at the Nobel concert. give it too them good. hope we get to see here in US= if not

Dear Donna,
Thank you for your performance at the LA County fair, it was truly a night to remember!
Happy Holidays to you and your family, please come back to California again soon!
Looking forward to hearing your next new CD soon!
It's Denis from France. First of all i want to thank you for your show in Paris. It was wonderful, magical.
It was the first time i saw you. I was so excited. you brought joy and happiness to the crowd. It's a shame the show hasn't been
recorded because i would have bought it on DVD!!!
The three songs I preferred were "Could it be magic", "smile" and obviously "La vie en Rose",
Now I hope you will come back in France soon...
The three song i will enjoy to hear will be: "Whispering Waves", "Heaven Knows" and "Dream a lots theme"
I want to say that i heard a song of you on you tube called "love on and on" "studio 54 mix" and i think it's a very good song
i fell in love with it. I think it would have been a very good single.
To finish, I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year for you and all of your
family. Thank you for everything Donna...

To Donna and the Sudano Family,
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!!
2009 was a tough year for me. My sister passed away unexpectedly this past September at the age of 29. Your music brought me so much comfort during these hard times in my life. We saw you during the Stamp Your Feet Tour in Minneapolis in 2008. She knew how much I loved you and your music and was in awe when she saw you perform on stage. I hope to see you on tour next year and I love when you sing the classic's like Once Upon a Time, I Love You and I Feel Love. Three songs I would love see live would be Lucky, Our Love and There will always be a you. I want to also wish you a Happy Birthday!!
With Love Always,
Robert Trujillo

P.S. Here's two pictures of my tattoo I got of you this past spring!! Now i can take a Little bit Summer with me! LOL

Dear Donna,
I have been a fan forever.
Your music has pretty much been the soundtrack to my life and the older I get, the more I appreciate you and all that you have accomplished musically. I have an extensive music collection of amazing singers and all are equally great in their own right but you possess something different, your vocal ability is nothing less than superb and in my opinion, you really are one of the greatest singers in the world today.
Growing up in New Zealand, I had a pretty limited amount of information available to me about you. I bought all your albums but never got to see you live or on TV much. The year I moved to the UK, you had performed a month earlier in London and when I decided to come back home, you did a book signing in Oxford St a week after I left LOL. Never mind ...these days there is YouTube and Cathy’s website so I don’t feel as though I’m missing out.
So ...now it’s time for me to acknowledge your greatness and join the millions of other fans out there that have been blessed enough to really know your music and have you sing us through the years – Lucky us!!
Thank you for the music and have a wonderful Christmas & New Year.
God bless,
Ed
PS. My fave live tracks are/would be:
* Any Way At All
* Friend's Unknown
* Heaven's Just A Whisper Away

Dear Donna,
It was amazing to see you on concert for the first time this year. I hope it was the first of many times to enjoy the voice of my "Dear Fairy Godmother" live! ;-)
I wanna wish you and to your whole family a blessed Christmas season, a New Year full of happiness and also a Happy Birthday!
You always will be in my prayers and in my heart.
Love,

Dearest Donna,
Here's to a another year's 'useful' energy spent!!! (Nights In White Satin) Such a pleasure to see you out and performing at such esteemed events as 'The Nobel Peace Prize Concert' and 'The Elton John AIDS Foundation Benefit'. (The Queen Is Back) Standing out there out on the stage is where you belong!!! (My Life) The only thing missing is a duet with Andrea Boccelli!!! (The Prayer) Hey, one can dream, right? (The Impossible Dream) Also, the only thing that could have made 2009 more memorable would be if you'd sung 'Smile' at Michael Jackson's memorial...Both he and you were two of my favorite musical artists as a child and your rendition of that song just brings it home for me every time...May he indeed rest in peace. (Gone Too Soon) But alas, we did get the pleasure of hearing you sing 'La Vie En Rose' via YouTube in Paris, France!!! 'La Vie En Rose' just happens to be one of my favorite 'one offs' from you in the 90's...I always imagine myself walking the streets of Paris (Or Montreal) when I hear it. (Thinkin' Bout My Baby) So it was a thrill to hear a traditional rendition for the first time live!!! (Je T'aime) And congratulations to your daughter and new son-in-law on their nuptials. (Chapel Of Love) A beautiful couple indeed!!! So, here's wishing all your family ALL THE BEST this season and the hope for even greater PEACE and PROSPERITY in the New Year for all mankind!!! (State Of Independence)
As per Cathy's request my three favorite songs I've seen live (excluding the hits and some of those in parenthesis above):
1) A Song For You (Love Whitney too....But you do it so well!!!)
2) Amazing Grace (Always such heartfelt emotion...I'm hoping you'll channel Mahalia Jackson on a CD someday soon...'I Found The Answer' and 'The Upper Room' are two of my fav's.:-)
3) The Impossible Dream (I love how you say that 'this was your dream' to be on stage in front of a group of people just like us...We are so blessed...Only you and Luther can nail that song right into the soul...)
Songs I'd love to see performed live:
1) Anything from Broadway including 'Aquarius' from 'Hair', 'What I Did For Love' from 'A Chorus Line', 'I Dreamed A Dream' from 'Les Miz'...(Although Susan Boyle seems to have a lock on that one right now...LOL) And hopefully one day that 'Ordinary Girl' soundtrack will see the light day...In a perfect world you'd also have a 'Broadway' covers CD out just like Barbra you know who...LOL But seriously, your musical theatre artistry really shines through when you sing these kind of songs...:-)
2) A Song For You (Revived and revisited once again...Pure soul indeed!!! :-)
3) In the spirit of the holidays, anything from 'Christmas Spirit', one of the most underrated holiday albums OF ALL TIME!!! (Ok Kanye...LOL) But seriously, I can't wait to put that CD on every year oh, just about this time... Some of the most devout pure singing and sweetest vocal riffs from you to date in the definite spirit of Mahalia...It harkens me back to when I was a kid and heard you sing 'O Holy Night' on 'A Solid Gold Christmas' for the first time...Simply BEAUTIFUL as are YOU!!!
FELIZ NAVIDAD/CUMPLEANOS AND A ROCKIN' NEW YEAR WITH OR WITHOUT THAT HALL OF FAME'S APPROVAL!!!
MUCH LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS FROM ARETHA AND HATTIE MAE BLANCHE DUBOIS' FAVORITE BARTENDER,

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; everywhere you go; for we need a little Christmas ... Spirit, right this very minute. Merry Christmas Bruce & Donna, and to your home and family. What a joy it is to listen to Mary's {You Made It} CD along with yours {Christmas Spirit} during the holiday season. We've said to you over the years how much we have been blessed by your marriage and gifts, and we have; however we want to thank you for giving from anointed hearts that show us another facet of the love of Christ. We pray that during this Christmas, birthday and New Year, you will come to live experientially in an even deeper way, the very presence of Almighty God. May your every dream yet to be, begin to come to fruition. May your family in every way be greatly blessed by 3 John 2, Numbers 6:24-26, Psalm 20:4 and Acts2:28. Once again, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday and Blessed New Year! We expectantly look forward to hearing and seeing more from you through God. He has truly blessed you in so many ways. We are lives changed by that truth. We love you. God bless you. Hugs! \o/

What a Highlight this year: Seeing you Live in Concert in Paris!
Finally a full concert in Europe. Next time in Holland, OK?!
I hope for more Donna-Hightlights in 2010 and many more years to come!
Wishing you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hi Donna,
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.
After being a fan of yours for 30 years, I finally got to see you perform live at The Venue in Hammond, IN. (I was the one near the front on your far right who stood the entire time, singing along and taking tons of pictures....not that I expect you to remember after all of your performances this year, but, just in case....) I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and look forward to seeing you more in the future.
Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday and Happy New Year,
Michael
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing."
Galatians 2:20-21

Dearest Donna!
Merry Christmas! Happy Birthday and best wishes for a New Year! As I write this greeting my best wishes are
for you at the Nobel Concert in Norway! President Obama is in for a treat!
Please pass on to Bruce my review of his latest CD. I give it an A- It just needs to make it longer!! It's wonderful
stuff. His material is drawn from his life and it really resonates!
Lastly, please pray for me in Sept when I enter the Wisconsin Ironman Triathlon! My Donna tunes are what keep
my running and biking!
Dear Donna
We saw you in concert in Paris last summer, and it was a fantastic concert. Thank you for a very uplifting experience. I enjoyed especially "Love to love you, baby" and "La vie en rose" "Smile" and also "I'm a fire". I would love once, if I ever get to see you in concert again, to hear you perform some of the songs from your musical, "No ordinary lovesong" or "My life" for instance. I do hope you come to Europe again, as I have only seen you live twice in my life, but you have been a part of my life for the past thirty years, and I love you. You are a wonderful singer. I hope also to hear you sing some new songs in the coming year.
I wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year. God bless you.
Love,

Donna,
There is something to be said for a performer who has kept me interested for over 30 years and it just keeps getting better. I still check online everyday and sometimes many times a day searching for the latest Donna news. We are so thankful to have people like Cathy keeping us in the know. I will never forget her helping to arrange the meet and greet in Baltimore in 2008. They only had a last name so I am glad I didn't give up and leave. It was a dream come true. I am sure you would never remember me, but it was such a thrill! I can't remember anything I said but I have a photograph so I guess it really happened. It was so surreal! I did get to speak to Mimi before the concert and she was to give you a small box of crayons. Just what a DIVA really needs.
As we look forward to a Nobel Peace Prize performance and an induction into the R &R Hall of Fame, I look forward to more. I still listen to Crayons a couple times a week. In 2010, we need a Crayons
follow up with a killer new album and sound. You can do it and I will be there to support you every step of the way. Please release it early in the year so you can take advantage of all the tv talk shows. I want to see you on the boob tube every week. It is so comforting to hear that incredible voice over and over again. I am ready for the next Donna explosion. I am sure I will plan my summer vacation around a Donna concert somewhere. Oh the love of being a teacher. Keep up the great work!
My song requests would be: I Got Your Love.... something from the vault...and something with a kicking beat from a brand new album. No pressure here!
Have a Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas to you and yours,
Tony

Hi, Donna. We made it another Christmas. I hope you and your family have a great holiday season. Looking forward to seeing you on the Nobel Peace Prize concert. You have been such a blessing in my life, musically. Thank you from the bottom, center, and top of my heart. The more music you put out, the more I am blessed in some way, shape or form. God bless.
Love always, Jimmie

Hi Donna,
Thank you so much to make 2009 such a special year for you, your fans and the World.
Your new album CRAYONS was a blast! It’s so good that The Queen is Back…. A long kept wish came true.
It was magnificent!
Lot’s of love, Christmas greetings and good wishes to you and your family! May we fans be kept blessed by your presence. Your influence to my life is ever lasting. I’m honored to be able to hear your music, your voice….

Hi Donna
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
It's a wonderful time of the year
Yes, it's that time again. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas season and a very happy new year. And, of course, a very happy birthday to you on the 31st.
I (Mark) have been a fan yours since I heard MacArthur Park in 1978. I can't believe it's been 31 years. I have also been very privileged to have seen you in concert twice in the UK - Manchester and London. But Donna, the last time you toured the UK was in 1996 - where have you been? Please consider coming back - you've flown over to Europe too many times and missed out the UK. If you want to do a concert in my home that is fine by me (and my wife). Ha, ha!! Seriously, please come back!
God bless.

Dear Donna:
Thank you for the many lovely artistic moments you have shared with us this past year. It is my continuing privilege to be your loyal fan and friend unknown. I hope to perhaps see you in concert in the coming year if the location and my circumstances permit. It would be a wish come true. May you and all your family and loved ones have a joyous holiday filled with the blessings of love, health and peace. May the new year bring you many new personal and professional accomplishments and exciting experiences.

Dear Donna,
thank you so much for a lot of things. First of all, thank you for coming to Paris where you performed not only my favorites I FEEL LOVE and LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY but also COULD IT BE MAGIC. I screamed so loud I scared some people sitting next to me... More thanks for the wonderful experience of hearing you sing LA VIE EN ROSE live, absolutely f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I also want to thank you for coming to shake my hand after the show, I felt VERY privileged!!! A night I will never forget...
But that was not all... because I had the chance to see your show in Belgium too. This time the stage was too high to shake any hands but I saw you recognised me and my friends and again you turned this night into another magical mystical event. I felt so happy when you performed I LOVE YOU... NEVER in my life I dared hoping for a surprise like this. (Actually that night it wasn't a surprise anymore because it was one of the songs your band played that summer afternoon during the soundcheck and of course we had to be there too). But the real surprise was at the end of the show when you did FAME (THE GAME), because it's my favorite track from CRAYONS and I missed it in Paris. Am I right when I think you were planning to sing it in Paris but couldn't because the people started leaving after you sang LAST DANCE? Anyway, I enjoyed your live version in Belgium tremendously and I would like to give a big compliment to your band and also to your dancers. Together you gave a great show!
Please give my regards to your sister Mary, it was so nice meeting her in Paris after the show because she was very sweet to us. She promised to look out for us at the concert in Belgium and when the moment was finally there she actually did before the show began, showing she remembered our meeting by waving and by the big smile on her face.
Two concerts in one summer... I will never forget it... 2008 was unforgettable because of the release of CRAYONS, you made 2009 unforgettable again because of these concerts. THANK YOU AGAIN SO VERY VERY MUCH Donna. Any surprise plans for 2010 (please come back over here)???
Last but not least, today I felt so happy watching you on my TV while you were attending the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony with president Obama as the winner. You looked great between all those kings, queens, princes and princesses but hey... after all you are THE EMPRESS!
Love you for life Donna, have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year and enjoy your birthday.
Warm greetings from a cold Holland,
Frank

Hi Donna:
Just a quick Christmas and birthday greeting from Philly.
Saw you on CNN for the Nobel Peace Prize concert.
3 words. Wyclef and Donna! Sista-girl you rocked.
The entire show was great and you just turned it up a few notches.
Your voice is as strong and even more soulful than ever. Like a locomotive.
You looked stunning, like a "Disco May West". From those black stilettos,
sparkling skirt and that awesome
top (with those fabulous sleeves!). It reminded me of your 80's Hot Summer Night video.
Excellent. You were a mix of class, sass and a God given talent. You've got legs.:)
Show these younger "divas" how it's done.
Stick your toe back in the water and give us another great Eurodance mp3.
Rest up from a sweet year of great concerts.
Rock On!
Isabella from the East Coast.

Dear Donna,
thank you not only for being an amazing singer, but also for being a ONE OF A KIND human being...

Dear Bruce & Donna,
I wish both of you and your family a wonderful Christmas holiday and La Summer a very Happy Birthday in the coming week :o)
This past summer I went to visit some famous Christian Monasteries and Churches here in Egypt were our Christ Lord spent time.
The feeling of standing were Christ lived his early life was amazing words just can not express the feelings I am very blessed to have this opportunity.
Since this is the Christmas season I thought I share with you some of the photos I took on this day.
I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed visiting the various historic locations.
The Arabic writing over my shoulder in my photo translated in English simply states "May God Bless You" and with that may God continue to bless the both of you and your beautiful family
With kindest regards from
Nate, Ali & Sasha (Bola)

Dear Donna,
I’m sending you both Holiday, and Birthday greetings from London.
I’ve been a huge fan of yours right from the beginning.
Right from the Love to Love You days (on GTO Records in the UK!) when I was a teenager, to the Crayons days on CD and downloads!!
I saw you in Paris this year with my partner. You were AMAZING! (But you always are!). Your voice was perfect, and you looked gorgeous. I will
always remember that night. The atmosphere was electric. The crowd adored you. And so they should!
Thank you so much for being part of my life. I play a little “Donna” every day, to put a spring in my step, and a smile on my face.
God Bless you Donna. Christmas wishes to you, and all your family. And Happy Birthday for the 31st!
Love
Chris Hodgkiss
London UK.

Dear Donna, another year has been added to the "soundtrack of my life" and as always you were the main attraction. Thanks for being with me through all the good and bad. That incredible voice never fails to pick me up when I'm feeling sad, turn me from happy to jubilant and give me strength when I think I can't go any further. Thanks for sharing your gifts with all of us. I pray you have a blessed holiday season and the new year brings peace, health and adventure. Much love and best wishes, Cory Banta, Kearny, New Jersey.

"Sometimes you have to remember who you were to figure out who you wanna
be"
“Heroes” (10/05/10)
“Stamp Your Feet”
Ever feel like there’s more to life,
More than you’ve ever known?
Ever felt the cold winds blow?
Felt something needed to change or be rearranged
But, you figured because of age
It wasn’t available to you?
What’s someone like you to do?
Listen
Negative thoughts
Keep you caught
A bit off center
A bit distraught
It keeps you in the dark
Blind
You’re living your life
Not running out of time
You simply have to turn the page
And move on to the next phase
God has so much more in store for you at this time
Feel the rhythm
Listen to the rhyme
This point in your life is the most precious of all
You know what you need to do
Just answer the call
There are new discoveries for you to find
Open up your mind cause there’s still time
The world keeps turning
Don’t let it pass you by
You are what you are because of why you are
And that’s no mistake
Don’t let fear control the choices you can now make
Getting older is no crime
Don’t be afraid to let your starlight shine
Just like you did in ‘75
Don’t let doubt ruin your good time
Remember you’re doing
What you were born to do
No other can complete your task but you
Open up your heart and free your mind
Believe in the possibilities of space and time
A dream for you
Just means there’s more work left for you to do
Obviously
Just look at what’s happened recently
You have to believe
There’s more to accomplish
There’s more for you to see
More for you to try
More for you to be
Don’t box yourself in
Thinking you know how your story’s gonna end
A new dream for you means
There’s more in store for you
Yeah, you’ve been there and done that
Got the t-shirt and the hat
But you haven’t done it all
And that’s a fact
God knows there’s a dream you’d like to fulfill most of all
Dial the number He’ll hear you when you call
He’s just waiting on you
In the silence of your heart
In the solace of your mind
Your dream will be revealed to you
If not now in due time
Just listen to that whisper inside
That tiny voice in your head
And, you will never be mislead
Remember,
Life starts again with each new day you begin
Don’t worry about “the wind”
About the when
When will this happen?
When will that happen?
When? In God’s time
And, that’s a sure sign
Everything’s gonna be fine
Focus, open your mind
All things are in order
Believe in The Divine
You need no clover
No matter how hard you plan
Real life always takes over
Dream the unreasonable
Dream the incredible
Dream the impossible
What they say is improbable
Why not?
With God’s grace you can’t be stopped
And marvel at how remarkable life is
Think positive
A new dream for you is God’s greatest gift to you
His way to uplift think of it
The amazing serenity of a new possibility
A brand new day is on its way
Don’t be afraid
Be fearless
Be bold
Listen and hear
God’s promise is true and always sincere
He’ll make a way for you to do what you say you want to
Imagine a new challenge
A life anew
This is a little something I thought you should know
And when it comes to pass remember I told you so
Stamp your feet
And go on with the show

Dear Donna:
On a recent train ride from NYC, I found a copy of USA Today that someone had left behind on the seat. So, I fled to the Entertainment section and saw an article about the Kennedy Center Honors. My favorite comment was Aretha Franklin's introduction of opera great, Grace Bumbry. She said, "Several young artists today know nothing about being a diva. There was a time when you earned your diva-ness You could do it by having a voice that started like a gift from God, then developed with the dedicated work of Man. You played all the great opera houses of the world, you broke new ground, you thrilled millions of people. Grace Bumbry has done that."
Donna you certainly earned your diva-ness and your voice is a gift from God to all of us. My favorite Donna song would have to be "Say Something Nice." It certainly describes me and you sing it with such conviction and passion. I believe every word. The song I would love for you to sing in concert is "Who Do You Think Your Foolin'' because
YOU'RE A STAR, SUCH A STAR, YOUR A STAR!
Veronica
P.S. Jonathan and I had a blast hanging out at your star!

Dear DONNA,
I´ d like to take this chance to send you my very personal greetings!
I wish YOU - All The Best, A Merry Christmas, A Happy Birthday (in advance) and
A Wonderful New Year!!!
This year has been extraordinary to me in so many ways…I don´t wanna go into details but this year was the first time that I got the chance to see you perform twice in a full live-concert here in Europe. The first one was the one in Paris where I got the exceptional chance to meet your sister Mary (photo) along with the other two ladies who currently sing back-up for you. By the way, I think Mary is really cool. She even took her own photograph of mine I felt really honored and I would also like to wish her all the best and a very Happy New Year!
I also met your nice keyboarder Harry (?). The other time I saw you perform was the concert in Berlin.
You coming to Paris and Berlin, was definitely the absolute HIGHLIGHT of my personal year. Seeing you perform new songs of your fantastic new album “crayons” along with your “classics” was just phenomenal to me …especially because I had to wait about 30 years to see you “live” in Germany (apart from “our meeting” in 1994, Boulevard Bio, Germany, maybe you “Remember Yesterday”?).
Please, don´t make me wait another 30 years and PLEASE don´t wait too long to release another cd-album!!!
Your friend (unknown), Dec., 2009, Germany, www.myspace.com/raphaelkenji

Hi Donna!
The year 2009 marks the 30th anniversary of Jeff's Donna Fandom and, girl, what a celebration is has been for me! You shone like the true star you are in Paris, flooring me with your performance of Could It Be Magic, bringing me to tears with Smile and Be Myself Again, your booming voice sending chills through every soul in the house. And hearing La Vie En Rose live, wow! Yes, You Are A Fire indeed! Then only a couple of weeks later, I had the honor and pleasure of experiencing you again up close with your electrifying performance in Belgium, singing, much to our sheer delight, Once Upon A Time and my absolute favorite I Love You and bringing the show to climactic heights with Fame (The Game)!
As I am writing this, I am recovering from the Nobel Peace Prize Concert excitement. I know I can speak for most of your diehard fans in saying that your performance in Oslo reminded us all why we love you so much.. After all this excitement I am now gently getting ready for the festive season, soothed by the sounds from your amazingly awesome Christmas Spirit album, a record that takes my breath away every time I play it, even after all these Christmases.
Thank you once more for sharing your talents with the world, for filling my life with joy and simply for being the person you are.
Say hi to Bruce and especially to Mary Ellen, who has been such a sweetheart to us in Paris. Enjoy Christmas, have a Wonderful Birthday and get ready to shine again in 2010!
Love always,
Jeff Muskiet

Donna,
Wishing you and your family a very joyous holiday season this year. It was wonderful to meet you once again at the Meet & Greet @MGM Grand at Foxwoods, the concert was fantastic as always...
Our favorite live tracks from this year's concert where, Smile, Fame (The Game), & Crayons. I hope you get to release another great new album in 2010, and we look forward to another great tour hopefully
in the upcoming year.
Enjoy your birthday as well!!
We Love You,
Stephen & Nick

Merry Christmas and all the best for 2010.
wolfgang from Germany
P.S.
My favourite live tracks:
I Feel Love (It’s the precursor.)
songs like Be Myself Again (It’s so emotional.)
Hot Stuff (It’s party for every one, even for rock fans.)
Songs I would like to see live:
Grand Illusion (Electronic music pure! Your voice and the sound are integral to the lyrics.)
Lush Life (Even if it is the most curious song in your eyes you ever have recorded, the German ‚Rock-Lexikon’ (Rock Encyclopaedia) calls your version in 2008 absolutely outstanding. And I can only agree. I’ve heard other brilliant versions of this song, but with your voice down to earth you are the one who transforms ‚Lush Life’ into the present; you create a chill-out feeling. And we need a down-to-earth jazz video to show the world also this colour of yours.)
The Wanderer (Unplugged. I love your 1980-performance at ‚Tomorrow with Tom Snyder’. John Lennon compared your voice on ‚The Wanderer’ with the one of Elvis Presley.)
59
To Donna, Bruce & Family,
Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, and Happy New Year!! We look forward to some new music from you in 2010!! :) Loved your performance at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert! May the Spirit of Christmas be with you all.
Love from your friends in Chicago,
Frank Bruno, John, & Brandon

Dear Donna Summer,
I wish you and your family a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.
Thank you for touring again this year and coming to Connecticut. I enjoyed meeting you again and introducing you to my parents. We have all been fans since 1975.
I purchased an IPod this past Spring and put all of your albums on it. About 6 weeks ago, I played Christmas Spirit on it and I again realized what a wonderful album it is and what an amazing and inspiring voice you have! Best of luck to you in the future and I look forward to your next project!
How delightful it was to see you shining so bright in the recent Nobel Peace Prize concert! Just to see you there singing so wonderfully with that spectacular orchestra and looking so gorgeous in front of that mesmerized audience gave me continuous
goose bumps.
You have contributed so much to pop culture with your groundbreaking work, Donna! You are a true icon. Please, never disregard the musical treasures of your career. People will always play them when they mention you.
Well, so here's Christmas again. I wish you and your entire family the best Christmas of all!!!! God bless you.
PS: Taking this time to THANK you for being the soundtrack of my magical
mystical journey for over 30 years now.
With love,

TALES FROM THE HEART
(article from Nik for the 'Pages From The Heart' fan's scrap book to Donna Summer's 50th Birthday - Dec 1998)
ONCE UPON A TIME.........
.......in 1979 there was an ORDINARY GIRL singing LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY on my TV. Her names kept on appearing on my sibling's compilation tapes. Her pictures were all over the record shops. Still didn't know much until I got hold of ON THE RADIO album in 1982.
Hm'...so one may have said 'WOMEN' you are 'HOT STUFF!' Ever since that very day, that individual who's name is 'DONNA SUMMER' become one of my favourite stars in pop music. Her songs have affected MY LIFE in some other ways.
Yes.... I REMEMBER YESTERDAY, when I had been laughed at, doors had been slammed in my face and complaints about the loud music I had been playing. If that was not bad enough, in June 1993 I had lost my voice due to dancing and singing along to 3 non-stop 12"s of Donna Summer in a club. NO MORE TEARS, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH that is all in the past.
In 1995, THIS TIME I KNOW IT'S FOR REAL when I chose that ORDINARY GIRL for my TV set design project. It was an Arts And Talk Show that represents Donna Summer as the host. The concept is based on the characteristics of Donna Summer. The design represented a bright lively set with good use of colours, shapes and reflections. Due to the interesting concept, I obtained an 'A' for that project. Who knows SOMEDAY soon the project might be in my future Donna Summer website.
Now it is 1998, that ORDINARY GIRL once titled 'The First Lady Of Love' & 'The Queen Of Disco' is coming to her 50th birthday. A note from someone unknown:
'I wish you A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

Dear Donna,
Christmas is forever, not for just one day, for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself.
I wish you and your family A Merry Christmas & A Happy 2010!
Eddie - Sweden
PS: I forgot to mention the songs:
"Don't Cry For Me Argentina" (sung exactly like in London 1996) I was there and it was a blast!
"Heaven Knows" (duet version with Brooklyn Dreams) The version I have only seen on video.
I really would like to hear live "Now I Need You" with a lot of electronics and a big choir!
I also would like to hear Donna sing live a song called "Up To The Mountain" written by Patti Griffin. Once again with
a big choir.
64
My Dear Fairy Godmother,
Thank you for another memorable year. My favorite songs that you perform live are The Queen is Back which is my favorite song of all time; Fame The Game and Love to Love You Baby. I look forward to hearing your next new songs and new album soon! God Bless,

Dear Donna,
Thank-you so much for an incredible performance this past summer in Niagara Falls. The highlight of the evening was when you sang La Vie En Rose, you blew the roof off! and thanks again for performing several cuts from Crayons, it was a great combo along with your other hits. I hope your next CD will be as creative and as colourful as Crayons, you really are an exceptional artist in every sense of the word.
I'd like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your loved ones, and have a wonderful Birthday! Love you my Diva!

As far as the 3 songs which I most enjoyed hearing Donna sing live:
1. La Vie en Rose
2.(tie)Knights in White Satin and Pearls
3. (tie) Love to Love you Baby and Cold Love
The 3 songs I would love to hear her perform are:
1. Don't Cry for me Argentina
2. I Will Love for Love (the ballad version, the one she sang with the Nashville Symphony, it was
mind blowing, sounded like a soundtrack movie theme
3. (tie) Forgive Me (gives me goose bumps) and The Wanderer, this was a million selling single, yet she never performs it -
(how about an entire concert of Christmas Spirit, wouldn't that be something?
68
Dear Donna, Bruce, & Family,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Donna, Bruce and the gang! And
Happy Birthday Donna. :-) Thanks for another great year. I had a
blast!
This year I asked the guys to list their favorite live tracks and the songs
they would love to hear live - only I made it a nearly impossible task by
restricting them to 2 or 3 songs for each category. So I guess I should
abide by my own rules and not list the entire back catalog for either
list. ;-)
So here goes - my favorite live tracks (excluding the usual hits) are:
- I Will Live For Love - the ballad version I only ever saw on
YouTube. That blew me away!
- Love Is The Healer
- and either Crayons or Fame. I'd call them a tie because some days I
lean towards one and other days I lean towards the other.
- honorable mention goes to a whole bunch of other songs, but if I start
listing them now I'll be typing until 2030. LOL
Songs I'd like to hear live:
- I Will Survive.... only kidding. LOL
- anything from Ordinary Girl. I like what we've heard so far and I
would love to hear more
- Christmas Spirit - although that would probably seem silly in a summer
concert.
- anything from Bad Girls that wasn't a hit. There's not a bad track on that
album but Hot Stuff, Bad Girls and Dim All The Lights seem to get all the
glory
- and the entire back catalog, plus interesting cover songs, plus new stuff
that hasn't even been written yet. (Oh what the heck, let me break my own
rules. LOL)
Love ya
Cathy from Long Island, Cyberspace and the third padded cell on the
right. ;-)

Dearest Donna,
I'm really happy whenever I listen to your music, and when I hear your voice. I go to a place that is beautiful resonance, a place that relaxes and distracts me, and makes me forget everything unpleasant. You and your work are really very special to me. May your colors always be deep and dark, and brilliant and bright.
If I were to pick three songs I’d like to hear Donna sing, they’d be:
My Funny Valentine
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered
Somewhere
Other songs I'd like to hear Donna sing:
Music of The Night, Andrew Lloyd Weber
Annie's Song, John Denver
Manha De Carnaval, Black Orpheus
Shadows of the Night, Pat Benatar
Faithfully, Journey
21 Guns, Green Day
Wake Me Up When September Ends, Green Day
Un-break My Heart, Toni Braxton
To Where You Are, Josh Groban
Seven favorite Donna songs I’d like to hear live:
Eyes
Riding Through the Storm
Any Way At All
The Way We Were
The Man I Love
Pandora’s Box
Oh Holy Night
Other Donna favz I’d like to hear live:
Melody Of Love
Carry On
Whenever There Is Love (hysterical vocals, makes me dizzy, love it)
My Life
Nobody
Forgive Me
Supernatural Love
Oh Billy Please
Love Will Always Find You
Dim All the Lights (Entire Version)
Journey To The Center of Your Heart
On My Honor
There Will Always Be a You
Our Love
Lucky
Sunset People
Smile (low key)
Thinking About My Baby
I Do Believe (I Fell In Love)
Can't We Just Sit Down And Talk It Over
Fascination
I Got It Bad
Some Of These Days
Only One Man
I Love You (Entire Version)
Nights In White Satin
The Impossible Dream
Of course the Donna songs I really want to hear the most, are the songs DONNA wants to sing!
I wish you, Bruce, your beautiful daughters, your delightful sister Mary, and the whole entourage A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010!
Your Big Fan,
Ken (Fletcher)
P.P.S. I’d also like to thank your musical associates, Bruce Sudano, Mary Gaines Bernard and JohnnySwim for their interesting and great works. I definitely have my favorites from your family’s jewelry box of gems.

Okay - this last greeting is a flash movie from Jerry Ringuette in Quincy,
MA
I put it here on the bottom because it is a rather large file and I
thought it could load while you read the other messages. But I had to
disable autoplay so that it wouldn't interfere with other things posted
above. (Plus it would be really annoying if it started before you were
ready. LOL) To get the file to play (after it has loaded) just right
click the middle of this box and select "play". Then sit back
and enjoy. :-)
