Ok, so if you are here I guess you are wondering about
me. I have been a Donna Summer "freak" since 1978
when I got my hands on Live And More. I got it because I
had fallen in love with a song I heard on TV called Mimi's
Song. But after I played the album I discovered that there
were plenty of other great songs on it too. After playing
Live And More constantly - I heard that a new album was
coming out called Bad Girls. I was hesitant about getting is
because I thought there was no way it could be as good as
Live And More. But then I heard Hot Stuff on the radio a
few times and I just HAD to have the album. When I got it I
was NOT disappointed. From that time on I was hooked,
and I made it a point to get every album Donna had
recorded. Here it is, over 20 years later and I love her
music as much as (if not more than) I did before.
For most of that 20 plus years, I was a relatively quiet fan. I
bought the records and went to the shows, but I didn't really hook up with other Donna fans. And then almost 4 years
ago someone gave me their old cast off computer. I discovered a whole world of Donna fans right there in my
computer. Eventually I was inspired to start a website of my own. The first page I did was a really cheesy page of
pictures - but I was still learning. After that I added the discography. Then I started putting news on the page with
the pictures. Eventually I figured out that it would be a good
idea to make the site LOOK like something. And the Tribute Site as you know it now was born. Since then, I've
tried to keep the site updated with the latest news - even
when there isn't much to talk about. And my success has
been in large part due to the contributions of fans like you
who have emailed me with tidbits you've discovered, with
reviews of shows you've seen, and with general
encouragement and constructive criticism. So I guess in
a way that makes you ALL website staff. (But this is a
non-profit site so don't expect a paycheck any time soon!
LOL)

Who IS that woman who keeps showing up in our pictures? ;-)

The Fabulous Albert
Featured columnist
The Fab One is another 20 plus year veteran fan. He's the
guy who handed Donna the white roses in Live And More
Encore, he's the guy who sang with Starr Jones on The
View last summer and he's the guy who provided the
inspiration (and a lot of the text) for the introduction to the
Pages From The Heart book. Before he started writing for
the Tribute Site, he was a semi-regular contributor to the
Donna Summer Fan Club newsletter and he regularly
posted reviews on the AOL messageboard. After stealing
many of his reviews for the site, I thought it was easier to
just give him his own space here on the site.
Albert is my resident expert on the music business as he
is currently a college student going for degrees in music
business. And that expertise provides a needed balance
to this site - so that when I whine like a spoiled fan when
the record company doesn't do exactly what I want, Albert
can explain the reasoning behind it. Additionally, he's a
good descriptive writer. You may not always agree with his
reviews, but you will always have a clear picture of the way
he feels. And maybe one of these days, he'll find a few
minutes to write up his own biography. ;-)

Featured columnist
Once upon a time, the Fab One and I ran out of ideas for our columns.
So I offered the space to any fan who had something to say. As it turned
out, one fan in particular had a lot to say and he bailed me out on
several occasions. So I finally just gave him his own column and Ken's
Korner was born.
Ken Allan is a Donna fan from way back with no end in sight. He's
seen Donna something like 30 times in concert, but has yet to meet her
face to face. Not that he would refuse the opportunity if it ever
arose. (That's a hint, Donna. ;-) )
In his spare time Ken likes to translate Donna Summer lyrics from
their original English into Latin and then into Russian. (He made me say
that - I swear!) And if that doesn't keep him busy enough, he working on
turning his partner of 2 years into a rabid member of the Summer Fever
Brigade like the rest of us. His pug dog, Millie, is already a fan - and
you should hear her howl Hot Stuff in Russian! ;-) |

Site Mascot
The Diva Cat Piggy became the unofficial site mascot and the
official cause of many typos thanks to her constant companionship while
I'm on the computer and her constant jealousy of the attention I pay to
the computer! LOL
She passed away in June of 2006, so all typos are now dedicated to
her memory. Her sister George passed away in 2010 after many years of
faithful indifference to this site and anything else related to the
internet. |

Site Mascots In Training
These are the new mascots in training for 2010. So far they are
really good at walking on the keyboard and at ignoring my commands (make
that pleas LOL) to stay off the internet. They only LOOK innocent.
